"You all stay busy. I wouldn't expect anything less from the
Tampa Bay photography market leaders."

We have some good
news and some bad news. Actually, though, the bad news isn't so much
as bad, but it is disappointing for this month.
The good news comes first. The early numbers are in. This new site has
exceeded our expectations as a marketing tool, and is easily the best
photography web site in the Tampa Bay market. Some people can have their
fancy flash-based sites which only half of their visitors can see because
of low speed Internet connections or browser plug-ins that they do not
have. Another thing about fancy flash-based sites: they don't update
easily unless you're the web developer, and in most cases, the photographer
or photography company who owns such sites didn't build them and have
no direct or easy way to update them. We will settle for intuitive,
effective, and 100% compatible with all browsers and connection speeds.
Just because it isn't full of flash doesn't mean that it isn't the best.
Before you think that we are knocking flash-based sites, we are not.
We realize that new technology has its advantages as well as its drawbacks,
and we will be using that technology ourselves as soon as it can be
used effectively. It's just that most of those efforts are overdone
with no clue or thought toward the business model or the target market
and are ultimately uneffective; a point that we will be more than happy
to prove in the next year.
This new Aurora PhotoArts web site is designed to be pushed by a sales
team and is built around a massive online portfolio so potential clients
can see the high quality and obvious value of our work firsthand. We
haven't abandoned the old-school Internet/ search engine based market,
however, and the new site is designed to be search engine friendly.
At the moment, we are ranking very high in some search engines but not
others. Google, for starters, has changed and is no longer ranking our
site high. That will change in the next six weeks, and it must, as our
work and our site deserve to be at the top. We feel that what this company
offers is much more relevant than what is now coming up in some searches
(look and see. Other than an Orlando based photographer who does exceptional
work, you need to look at those search results and compare them to us
and what we offer. Is it really relevant? We think not).
This said, the site has exceeded our projections so far, and the numbers
are looking good. We won't know the final score, however, and won't
have a solid base of reference until the market picks up in January
like it normally does; after years in business in the Tampa Bay market,
there are definite market patterns that have been established that allow
us to accurately forecast the cycles of business. So far, this year
has been slower than the past few years, but it is only because of all
of the support work that we've had to do. We are now focusing our efforts
on marketing, sales, and service, and are looking forward to a record
breaking year in 2006. We're going to put all of that expanded business
to work, too- we are on the verge of procuring even more equipment and
new lights, and will even be setting up a new joint-photography studio
now known as Fusia. The new gear is not necessarily needed for the Tampa
Bay market, but we need it for both our commercial photography work
and to compete with photography companies in big cities such as Chicago
and New York. Of course, this will increase our lead in this market
by default, too, and we might add it will increase our market leadership
dramatically. There is a saying in business, and that saying goes like
this: "Good equipment does not make up for lack of talent".
We know by observing others that you can fake your skill and knowledge
in this business; we call such "competitors" Fools
Gold. In our case, we have lots of talent, lots of experience,
and lots of skill. When we obtain the rest of our tools, people are
going to wonder how our work became ten times better overnight. The
actual reason, of course, would be that the work always existed, but
was held back by a lack of tools. In the case of the Fools
Gold analogy, what will happen is that we will be subjecting
them to a lot of heat and pressure in the market, they will become known
for what they really are when they start to stink, and they will fall
out of business. We're not putting down our present work, however, by
any means- especially when the Fools Gold
people like to learn from it whenever they can. We are very proud of
the quality of our work, and it really is the best value in the Tampa
Bay market; our photography and photography support services are what
we would want and need if we were clients. It's just that we also realize
that there is room for improvement; we know where we need to go and
know how to get there. We're just now getting what we need to bring
a new vision into reality, and, quite frankly, this market needs it.
Get ready to witness the greatest growth of this company in our history.
Now, it's time for the bad news. The news deals with site updates for
the month of November. While we will be working to get our portfolio
core menu online and add more images to our portfolio database, there
won't be a lot of updates like there have been the past six weeks except
for a handful of news and update postings. The reason? There are two.
First of all, we will be busy booking and working photography sessions,
and it may be some time before the next big update. We have some catching
up to do. The other reason is that the EOS web team has shifted its
attention to completing Independent Modeling, Independent Acting, Independent
Performer, and TALON. That is a huge project that will take a while.
They also have to complete upgrades to the Eventi Events site, launch
a new Tampa Bay Modeling site, and continue developing a new modeling
resource site called Advanced Model.
They are telling us November, but we're telling you this: Don't expect
a lot of updates to this site until the new year at least. 2006 will
be the year that it will be heavily updated and it will really grow.
Thank you all for your patience.
