Tampa Bay model portfolio photography session anecdote for Sunday, August 6, 2006.

Tampa Bay model, actress, dancer, and former Miss Florida USA pageant contestant Shilah Goodwin and her boyfriend Tyler met up with Aurora PhotoArts senior photographer C. A. Passinault on location in Brandon, Florida, on a Sunday morning for a talent head shot, model portfolio, and modeling bikini photography session. While Tyler played New Super Mario Bros on a Nintendo DS portable console, Passinault and Shilah started with a series of actor head shots, and then quickly decided to move on to the swim wear photography.
They traveled to a secret Tampa Bay beach location near Clearwater Beach for some bikini modeling, which is where Shilah got into her zone as a model. The swimsuit looks kept coming as they shot bikinis at a nearby office complex for an unique contrast, and Shilah finished up with a custom dress that a fashion designer had made.
The photography session ended back in Brandon with lunch at the Macaroni Grill, and they took out time to look over the pictures as they ate and talked.
It should be noted that Aurora PhotoArts, unlike some photographer and photography companies in the Tampa Bay area, both allows and encourages models to bring friends and family members along during booked photography sessions. We allow models to bring parents, spouses, or boyfriends/ girlfriends, and have never had any issues with this policy (although we do not allow models to bring along anyone who would be a conflict of interest, such as another photographer- we are not in business to teach other photographers how to shoot and are particularly protective of our photography techniques and locations). In this case, Tyler proved to be great to be around, and even held a reflector during portions of the photography session. Tyler had a lot of fun during the modeling photography session, and this would have been true even if he never got to play any video games. What’s with all of the video games during photography sessions, anyway? Blame it on C. A. Passinault, who is also a video game expert and developer. Models have been playing video games around Aurora PhotoArts photography sessions for years, and this tradition will never stop. Going back to Shilah and Tyler, the conversation with Tyler regarding Nintendo’s upcoming Wii console proved to be interesting.
Some modeling portfolio photographers try too hard to be cool. Ours actually are, and we’re able to entertain while we work and hold down interesting conversations about more subjects than any other photographer. We’re also good listeners, and this results in photography session participants coming away from sessions with far more than great pictures. We all learn something cool from each other, and there’s nothing better than that to enhance shooting excellent pictures. C. A. Passinault’s “educate while entertain” philosophy also extends to our photography services, and it works really well.
