References are available upon request on the consultation and booking level. Aurora PhotoArts has a long history of providing our clients with high quality photography and design services of the best value, and we take great pride in the work that we do. We protect our client information, and treat it as confidential unless the client agrees to allow other clients to contact them. As a client, your information will not be given out unless you specifically agree to it in writing, and we balance out the needs of providing references and protecting our client confidentiality. Many of our clients, however, refer others to our services, and there is no greater testimonial than that. Many of our bookings are referrals from satisfied clients.
We have done a lot of work in the areas of model testing, model portfolio photography, and actor/ talent head shot photography. Most of our model, actor, and talent clients are working professionals who do not use things like portfolio networking sites and other Internet "entertainment" freebies. A majority of our clients book work through model and talent agencies as well as on their own as independent professionals. A majority of our clients who promote themselves and book work on a freelance basis have professional web sites that they have invested in, and references can be obtained freely from those public sources. We work with many professionals, and those who aspire to be our competition do not; this is the main reason that they do not know our clients.
As a professional photography company, we do maintain profiles on portfolio networking sites and on social networking sites for experimental marketing purposes, as we have professional Internet assets such as our AuroraPhotoArts.Com web site and it does not cost anything to have a professional presence in unprofessional online communities. Our purpose for having profiles on such sites is to provide a professional and an ethical alternative to what is normally found on such sites. We do not recommend that any professional use a portfolio networking site unless they know what they are doing and have a purpose other than promoting themselves and booking work. Most profiles on such sites are those of amateurs and hobbyists who can do little for your career, and if these people only have free profiles and no professional web site or references, you will truly get what you pay for. For any career, you will only get out of it what you put into it, and one measure of a professional is the investment and quality that they put into their career. This said, while we work with professionals who have better things to do than bother with portfolio networking sites, we occasionally do book work with aspiring models and talent, and some of theses clients do end up with profiles on these sites in addition to the professional web sites that they need. If you see any of our clients on these sites, feel free to ask them to provide a reference concerning our company and what we did for them.
Ironically, more professionals tend to have profiles on social networking sites such as Myspace than with model, talent, and photography portfolio networking sites. One reason for this is that it is far more productive to promote and market yourself to a real target audience than waste time promoting yourself to your competition and amateurs who do not take the incentive to invest in a professional career.
Please be safe. If you feel that you like the work of someone on a networking site and want to work with them, you owe it to yourself and your career to make sure that they have a professional business web site in addition to their profile and professional references. Remember that it doesn’t take any professional investment in time or money to post an online portfolio on these site, and such people have little or nothing to lose. In some instances, these people have unprofessional and questionable motives, and the work that you see may not even be work that they have done.

Clients and models under the age of 21 are encouraged to involve their parents in the consultation, booking, and service process of any of our services that they wish to book. Anyone under the age of 18 is required to have the full participation of their parents or legal guardian. We do not knowingly solicit minors for any service that we offer. We only refer models to top model and talent agencies who have professional clients and who are associated with ethical professionals. Aurora PhotoArts is not affiliated with any model and talent agency or agencies, and our photography and design services company is not represented by any agency. We are not responsible for the opinions and actions of any agencies who we may refer our clients to. Additionally, we recommend that models invest in portfolio pictures and composite cards before going to any agency, as this will avoid any potential professional or ethical conflicts of interest without compromising the integrity or quality of the portfolio pictures and modeling career tools that they need.
